Itinerary
DAY BY DAY
Day 1: Arrival in Kilimanjaro
Welcome to Tanzania! Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be greeted by our friendly team and escorted to your hotel in the vibrant town of Moshi. Upon arrival, we will have a detailed briefing about the upcoming adventure. Our experienced guide will provide essential information about the Machame route, safety measures, and everything you need to know to successfully conquer Kilimanjaro. After, you will have time to rest and acclimatize to the high altitude.
Day 2: Machame Gate to Machame Camp
This day, you will embark on a thrilling Kilimanjaro expedition. After a short drive to Machame Gate, start your ascent through the lush rainforest. Listen to the sounds of exotic birds and marvel at the breathtaking scenery. Arrive at Machame Camp, where our expert team will prepare delicious meals to help restore your energy.
Day 3: Machame Camp to Shira II Camp
Leaving the forest behind, the trail will open up to magnificent views of the Shira Plateau. As you trek across rolling moorland, you may catch glimpses of wildlife roaming freely. Reach Shira Camp, where a warm campfire and hearty meal await. Take in the stunning sunset over the vast African landscape.
Day 4: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp
Today’s route takes you through the Lava Tower, an impressive rock formation at an altitude of 4,600 meters. Enjoy the panoramic views while acclimatizing to the altitude. Descend to Barranco Camp, nestled in the scenic Barranco Valley. Rest and refuel before an exciting day tomorrow.
Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Wake up to stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, as the challenging Barranco Wall awaits you. Climb the wall with the assistance of our experienced guides, using hands and feet. Be rewarded with awe-inspiring vistas of the surrounding glaciers. Continue to Karanga Camp, a perfect spot to rest and prepare for the final ascent.
Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Today’s trek brings you closer to the summit as you make your way towards Barafu Camp. Delight in the ever-changing landscape, from alpine desert to rocky terrains. Arriving at Barafu Camp, take some time to relax, eat a nourishing dinner, and rest before the midnight summit push.
Day 7: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp
Today is the big day! Begin your climb to the roof of Africa, Uhuru Peak. As you ascend, witness the sunrise painting the sky in vibrant colors. Surrounded by glaciers and the beauty of the mountain, reach the summit and celebrate your incredible achievement. Descend to Mweka Camp for a well-deserved rest.
Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
After a last memorable breakfast on the mountain, continue your descent through dense rainforest. Take in the sights and sounds of the vibrant forest as you head towards Mweka Gate. Upon reaching the gate, receive your well-earned certificate commemorating your Kilimanjaro conquest. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy a celebratory dinner.
Day 9: Farewell and Departure
Say goodbye to Tanzania as our team transfers you back to Kilimanjaro International Airport. Depart with unforgettable memories, a sense of accomplishment, and a new-found appreciation for the majesty of Kilimanjaro.
