Classic Miwaleni Waterfalls & Lake

Right at the foot of the great rift valley, the Miwaleni waterfalls is are naturally lines with papyrus plants. The papyrus plants (Mikeka in Swahili) are popular among Rangi people who live in the area, they use them to make mats, baskets, and lots of other useful items which you are likely to come across in the local markets or while visiting a cultural item shop.

A cooking class where you will learn how to make different Tanzanian dishes including the famous country’s staple food; Ugali. Religion has remained an important element of many Tanzanians’ lives to this day. You may experience Christianity from an African perspective by attending a local Christian Church service where you will notice not several similarities but as well as huge differences with your usual Sunday services back home. We rent bicycles for you to tour around this little but lovely community of Mto wa Mbu. Since agriculture is the backbone of the area, you will pass along many farms growing different crops such as rice plantations. Banana plantations e.t.c as well as people’s homes. The tour is approximately 2.5 hours

Authentic Maasai Boma Stay

You are welcomed by a Maasai guide, who then shows you around a Maasai the village and introduces you to villagers. You may interact with them, observe their cooking and dancing, and gain a thorough understanding of the Maasai way of life. After supper, the village head will talk about their customs and culture, and you may also tell him about your experiences. Next day you will wake up early ready to milk cows with Maasai ladies. After breakfast, you go fetch water with the ladies and learn how they carry the water buckets on their heads. Later you visit a traditional Maasai doctor and experience how he uses plants to cure different diseases.
