Trip summary

This itinerary carries the name wild and authentic since it highlights one of our primary goals as safari planners in tanzania. It is intended to challenge the traditional safari programs by showcasing tanzania from a local’s perspective. Aside from getting to experience african safari, this program will allow you to partake in everyday activities of tanzanian people such as local transportation, food, lifestyle and culture.

Itinerary

DAY BY DAY

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro region

Your designated guide will be waiting to pick you up at either of the two airports—Arusha or Kilimanjaro International airport—depending on the arrival time of your flight. After an inviting welcome, you will be transferred to your hotel where you may unwind for the rest of the day while getting ready for a for an experience of a lifetime. Day 2: Full day at Kilimanjaro Region

This day you will travel to Materuni village, which is still authentic and tribal and is home to the Chagga people. This lovely community will showcase its amazing coffee farms, waterfalls and deep culture. Later after lunch you will head to the hot springs of Kikuletwa or better known as Chemka hot springs which are adjacent to the settlement of Rundugai. Palm and fig trees with intertwining roots around the little pond. 

Day 3: full day in Arusha Region

This day you will be at Banana Eco Farm located in Banana farm and near at slope of Mount Meru. There are a lot of activities which you will do as Nature walk, Banana tour, milk the cows, village tour

Day 4: Tarangire National Park

You will be taken to the Arusha Bus Station in the morning, where you may take public transportation to experience real public transportation to Tarangire National Park. However, en route to Tarangire, you will meet your guide at Makuyuni stop and swap cars for a 4*4 jeep before continuing on to Tarangire. This park, formerly known as Elephants Paradis, is well-known for being an excellent place to go bird watching and for having a lot of game.

Day 5: FULL DAY IN MTO WA MBU

Mto Wa Mbu, situated on the main road before Karatu town, surrounded by breathtaking scenery is believed to be home of representatives of all Tanzania’s 120 tribal groups.

This melting pot of cultures is home to around 20000 people, that form a flourishing farming community. Visit the salad farm, get some salad greens, then prepare some salad and ugali. Get some Banana to cook by going to the Banana farm. Purchase ingredients from the neighborhood market. Trekking across the Rift Valley, Take a stroll through the village. Sell at Mama Happy’s neighborhood store, etc. 

Day 6: Serengeti National Park (Central/East/west)

You will begin your day early and enjoy the morning lights then begin your safari to the next destination and home for the next few days. The Serengeti National Park is the 3rd largest park in Tanzania but the most popular with diverse landscapes and habitats, such as grassy plains, swamps, lakes, savannah and mountains covering a whopping 14 000 sq. km and offers amongst many other things the biggest concentration of big cats in the world (Cheetahs, Lions, Leopards, Wild cats…). 

About 540 (!) different species of birds have been identified by the Serengeti Biodiversity Program but you have to pay close attention to the “Serengeti specials,” which are indigenous bird species that are unique to the region and so cannot be found anywhere else on Earth. The grey-throated spurfowl, Schawlow’s wheatear, red-throated tit, rufous-tailed weaver, grey-crested helmet shrike, and Schawlow’s turaco are some of these unique

Day 7: Full day in Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will leave with packed lunch and explore a little more while saying goodbye to Serengeti National Park and head to SERONERA AIRSTRIP where you will take your DOMESTIC flight to either Zanzibar or Arusha (OR ANOTHER DOMESTIC LOCATION) airport depending on your next destination.

Day8 : Ngorongoro Conservation Area & Ngorongoro Crater

This UNESCO World Heritage Site millions of years ago, is 600m deep and covers roughly 260sq km. Due to its dense animal population of approximately 25,000, the crater offers the best game viewing of all the parks in Tanzania. You will descend into the crater and in a matter of minutes, you will be able to see wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants, and a very good number of the more than 500 bird species in the area which included both native and migrants (from Northern Africa and Europe if you come on the months of November-April).

Day 9: Drive back to Arusha

After a late and energizing breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your hotel read to set off back to Arusha city.
