Itinerary
DAY BY DAY
Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania
Welcome to Tanzania! Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Moshi.
Meet your guide for a briefing and gear check.
Rest and prepare for the adventure ahead.
Day 2: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
After breakfast, drive to Marangu Gate (1,860m) to complete registration and entrance formalities.
Begin your trek through lush rainforest, immersing yourself in the natural beauty of the area.
Reach Mandara Hut (2,700m) and settle in for the night. Enjoy dinner and rest.
Day 3: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
Depart Mandara Hut after breakfast, continuing your ascent through the forest.
Arrive at the halfway point, known as Maundi Crater, where you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
Continue trekking through the heather and moorland zones, arriving at Horombo Hut (3,720m) in the afternoon.
Rest, acclimatize, and admire the breathtaking scenery.
Day 4: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
Leave Horombo Hut and venture into the lunar-like desert landscape of the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks.
Arrive at Kibo Hut (4,703m) in the late afternoon, where you’ll be served an early dinner.
Rest and mentally prepare for the challenging summit attempt.
Day 5: Summit Day - Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut
Wake up around midnight for a light breakfast and start the strenuous climb to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) – the highest point in Africa.
Trek through rocky terrain, past Hans Meyer Cave, and ascend the steep switchbacks known as Gilman’s Point.
Continue along the crater rim to Stella Point and push on to Uhuru Peak, where you’ll celebrate an incredible achievement.
Descend to Horombo Hut for a well-deserved rest, dinner, and a good night’s sleep.
Day 6: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate and Departure
After breakfast, bid farewell to the mountain as you trek down to Marangu Gate.
Receive your summit certificates and enjoy a celebration with your team.
Transfer to your hotel in Moshi for a hot shower, relaxation, and reflection on your remarkable journey.
Celebrate your accomplishment with a delicious dinner and perhaps a traditional Tanzanian dance.
Day 7: Departure
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport or continue on with your next adventure in Tanzania.
