DAY BY DAY

Day 1: Arrival at Arusha

Your designated guide will be waiting to pick you up at either of the two airports—Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport—depending on the arrival time of your flight. After an inviting welcome, he will transfer you to your hotel where you may unwind for the rest of the day while getting ready for an experience of a lifetime. If you have time on your hands, you can book a city tour with us, check out our activities page for more info.

Day 2: Arusha National Park

home to over 400 bird species, including endemic and near-endemic species. The park’s alkaline Momella lakes and forests are the primary locations for birding. The Park is also an excellent spot to get out and stretch your legs, with both walking safaris as well as canoe safaris available which couldn’t be a more thrilling way of viewing wildlife. The National Park also has the world’s biggest giraffe population, making it an ideal destination for giraffe enthusiasts.

Day 3: Mkomazi National Park & Rhino Sanctuary

Explore Mkomazi’s vast wilderness on a thrilling game drive. As you navigate through the park’s rugged terrain, keep your eyes peeled for the iconic African animals.  Mkomazi National Park is also dedicated to conservation and has successfully reintroduced various endangered species into the wild. Witness the heartwarming sight of black rhinos taking confident strides, and wild dogs frolicking as they rediscover their natural habitat. Additionally, towering Usambara Mountains provide a stunning backdrop, creating a picture-perfect setting that will leave you in awe.

Day 4: Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park is widely regarded as providing the best year-round bird-watching in Tanzania, thanks to a climate that alternates between hot and dry for half of the year and wet and humid for the other half, as well as a diverse range of habitats that include large, permanent swamps with year-round water, dry savannahs, and woodland areas. Tarangire’s bird checklist includes 495 species and the marshes in the park’s center are reported to hold the most breeding species in one environment anywhere in the world. The park is also home to buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, and a range of predators such as lions and leopards, and rarely cheetahs

Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park

After an energizing breakfast, you will leave with a packed lunch off to the unbeaten roads of Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara is a small but diverse park 120km west of Arusha home to warding birds (including flamingoes and over 500 other bird species). You will also come across baboons and elephants in the park’s largely thick forest and watch for tree-climbing lions that have become famous throughout Africa

Day 6,7,&8: Serengeti National Park (Central/East/west)

You will begin your day early enjoy the morning lights and begin your safari to the next destination and home for the next few days. The Serengeti National Park is the 3rd largest park in Tanzania but the most popular with diverse landscapes and habitats, such as grassy plains, swamps, lakes, savannah, and mountains covering a whopping 14 000 sq. km and offers amongst many other things the biggest concentration of big cats in the world (Cheetahs, Lions, Leopards, Wild cats…).

Day 9: Ngorongoro Conservation Area & Ngorongoro Crater

This UNESCO World Heritage Site millions of years ago, is 600m deep and covers roughly 260sq km. Due to its dense animal population of approximately 25,000, the crater offers the best game viewing of all the parks in Tanzania. You will descend into the crater and in a matter of minutes, you will be able to see wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants, and a very good number of the more than 500 bird species in the area which includes both native and migrants (from Northern Africa and Europe if you come on the months of November-April).
